While You're Here
We’re so grateful that many of you are making the trip to celebrate with us. We’ve put together this guide to help you experience Biarritz the way we do. Here are some of our favorite places to eat, drink, explore, and unwind... and maybe even a few that’ll tempt you to stay a little longer.
Where To Eat

Chistera and Coquillage
A casual, friendly spot with fresh seafood and great outdoor seating. Order the razor clams - they’re fantastic.

Eden Rock Café
Right on the beach and perfect for a relaxed lunch. Nearby Le Petit Café is also a great spot for lunch or dinner. Both overlook one of our favorite beaches.

Le Saleya
One of our favorite dinner spots in the center of town. Cozy, relaxed, and everything on the menu is delicious.

Maison Adam
A must for Basque-style macarons and pastries. Open since 1660!

La Maison Dezamy
Delicious homemade ice cream just steps from Les Halles. Grab a bench for some people-watching.
Where To Sip

Extola Bibi
The ultimate sunset bar where you can watch surfers and play bocce, with a fantastic spritz. A five-minute walk from Le Talaia hotel!

Le Passage
Tucked among a lively row of bars and terraces, Le Passage is a perfect spot to grab a drink and people-watch.

Olatua
One of several great rooftop spots with a view. Head here if you're in the city center!

Maison Plaisir
A restaurant by day that turns into a lively late-night spot. The tables get cleared, the music turns up, and the dance floor stays packed until closing.
Beaches

Plage du Port Vieux
A calm, tucked-away cove that’s great for swimming and relaxing.

La Grande Plage
The main beach: broad, filled with surfers, and lined with colorful tents. It’s Biarritz’s most iconic stretch of sand.
What To See & Do

Les Halles de Biarritz
A lively indoor market with local cheese, produce, pastries, and more. Ideal if you're doing any cooking or snacking.

Phare de Biarritz
Take a lovely walk from town to the lighthouse for sweeping views and a bite or drink at the nearby café. Another great spot for sunsets.

Rocher de la Vierge
A scenic walkway to Biarritz’s most famous rock (complete with a statue of the Virgin Mary). Just steps from shopping and restaurants.

Surf Lessons
Biarritz is the birthplace of European surfing. Lessons are available all over town for beginners and pros alike.

Golf
There are several great courses nearby, including Golf de Biarritz Le Phare, one of France’s oldest. Bring your clubs or rent locally.

Tennis & Padel
Courts are easy to find, and padel (a tennis/squash hybrid) is super popular here. Many hotels can help you reserve time.
Day Trips & Detours
Have a few extra days? You’re in a great spot.

Saint-Jean-de-Luz
(20 minute drive)
A picturesque harbor town perfect for a relaxed afternoon of exploring and snacking. For the history buffs, check out the Église Saint-Jean-Baptiste where Louis XIV (the Sun King) married Marie-Thérèse in 1660.

Guéthary
(15 minute drive)
Small, scenic, and stylish. A favorite for long lunches by the sea and exploring the quiet port.

San Sebastián
(45 minute drive)
Just over the Spanish border, this food-loving city is packed with pintxos bars, beaches, and charm.

Bordeaux
(2 hour drive or train)
More than just wine (though yes, the wine is excellent). The city’s full of elegant architecture, cobblestone streets, and riverside cafés. Be sure to carve out time to visit vineyards and the historic village of Saint-Émilion.

Cap Ferret
(2.5 hour drive)
Chic and low-key at the same time (Cory would describe it as the Cape Cod of France). Think oysters, pine forests, beautiful beaches, and lazy bike rides. Read about it here!
